The complexities of the technical requirements of the hospital environment often end up weakening basic and primordial values related to the emotions, perceptions, sensations and experiences of users. When analyzing the users of these environments - patients, visitors and employees - it should be borne in mind that these groups have different needs. One of the most difficult and most important challenges for designers in being sensitive to the subjective and experiential issues of these groups and exploring factors that make the hospital environment more welcoming, using humanization strategies based on interdisciplinary contributions to create functionally and psychologically efficient spaces. In addition to humanization, another important factor that triggered this research was the problem of brazilian maternal health. Based on this idea, this study aims to report how the interwining of neuroscience with architecture can assist in an architectural project of a Maternity Hospital for the Hospital Santa Teresinha de Erechim - FHSTE, in the city of Erechim-RS. The methodology of this work is descriptive, based on the analysis of secondary data. The results show the complexity involved in a Maternity Hospital project and how knowledge from neuroscience can provide guidelines capable of reconciling the needs of different groups of users who attend it.pt-BRArquitetura e UrbanismoArquitetura hospitalarMaternidadeNeuroarquiteturaMaternidade Abraccio: um olhar da neurociência e humanização de projeto hospitalar para a cidade de Erechim-RSTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso
