Bigolin, SergioCella, Anielly dos Santos Koning2024-06-112024-06-112024https://repositorio.uricer.edu.br/handle/35974/709The Brazilian legislation predicts the possibility of pregnancy interruption in case of risk to maternal life, sexual abuse or anencephaly, remaining without legal protection pregnant women of fetuses with congenital malformation incompatible with life. This way, this article shows the opinion of non-pregnant women living in a city of the north of Rio Grande do Sul state, about the interruption or maintenance of pregnancy due to malformation incompatible with life, in order to reflect adequate conducts to physical and mental health well-being of women and family members regarding the choice of pregnancy interruption and its socioeconomic correlations. Thus, an observational, analytical-cross-sectional field research was carried out in 9 Basic Health Units (UBSs) in the city of Erechim, in the form of questionnaires. The participants answered questions such as education level, salary, knowledge about congenital malformation and their opinion about pregnancy interruption. The research was applied to 122 non-pregnant women, aged between 18 and 49 years old, attending these UBSs. It was concluded that 70% of the participants of this study support the existence of the choice by the women, whether or not to interrupt pregnancy, in case of congenital malformation incompatible with live.
