The forming process of the casting iron, consists of melting the metal scrap and treating this material in a liquid state. There are several techniques to perform the formation of the nodular iron, among them, the most used by the foundries, is the sandwich, and also the method used for studying in this project. The experiments were based on the addition of different alloys in a sandwich reaction pot, with different percentages of alloy added on this material. Analyzes of the hardness, chemical and microstructural composition were carried out to understand the magnesium reaction at the nodular graphite formation. In addition to the study of different alloys used in the process, it was possible to observe the decrease in the cost of treating the nodular casting iron.pt-BREngenharia QuímicaFerro fundido nodularNodularizaçãoTécnicasOtimização do processo de nodularização em ferro fundidoTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso
