The study proposes a detailed analysis of police practices regarding the protection of individual rights and crime prevention, within a context that demands constant review and reflection on the effectiveness and limits of these actions. The initial chapters address the historical origins of societies and the modern state, as well as the evolution of the public security system, highlighting the importance of police power and its responsibilities in maintaining social order. The research also delves into the analysis of the tripartition of state powers, external control of police activity, and custodial hearings as a control mechanism. Furthermore, it examines the issue of evidence in criminal proceedings, emphasizing its lawfulness and validity. Finally, the research investigates the issue of personal searches based on founded suspicion by the Military Police, considering the positions of the higher courts on this practice.
