Ferrão, LuanaCamilotti, Eduarda2022-02-012022-02-012021http://repositorio.uricer.edu.br/handle/35974/360The organ donation process involves different steps that are interconnected and that complement each other. The first step is to identify a potential donor (PD) in critical care units, such as the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and/or Emergency Room, and the last occurs with the realization of organ capture in the Surgical Center (SC) and release of the body to the family. Nursing participates in all stages of the organ donation process, from the assistance provided to the PD, as well as the strengthened bond with the family. Therefore, the technical-scientific knowledge in the professionals' performance becomes essential for the success in organ donation. The study aims to identify scientific evidence on the performance of the nursing team in critical care units in the process of organ and tissue donation. This is a study with a qualitative approach using the integrative literature review method, based on Mendes, Silveira and Galvão (2008). The search for studies took place in July 2021, on the electronic portal: Regional Portal of the Virtual Health Library (VHL). For data treatment, thematic analysis was used (MINAYO, 2014), which originated three categories: Role of nursing teams in the process of organ and tissue donation; Obstacles in the organ donation process and; Facilitating strategies in the organ donation process. The results showed that the role of the nursing team ranges from active search, handling the PD to welcoming the family. The main difficulties are related to the recognition and acceptance of the BD, maintenance of the PD and contact with the family. Knowledge is a key point for nursing work in the context of organ and tissue donation. The trained professional will carry out their care practice safely and with excellence, in addition to positively influencing organ harvesting. In the meantime, the professional nurse, along with his team, becomes indispensable in the context of saving lives. It is believed that the results can contribute to reflections on the role of the nursing team in the organ donation process and, thus, rethink improvements in work processes and awareness of the population. It is also suggested, further studies that expand the information in this area of knowledge.pt-BREnfermagemEquipe de enfermagemDoação de órgãosCuidados críticosMorte encefálicaAtuação da equipe de enfermagem frente ao processo de doação de órgãos e tecidosTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso
