The aim is to present sensitive points focusing on establishing necessary guidelines for personal data security at a time when technology and internet-related crimes are on the rise. To this end, the study begins with an examination of digital transformation, the migration from physical to digital documentation, the necessary elements for digital signatures and certifications, and then verifies the requirements needed for digital signature validation. It analyzes the types of digital crimes related to digital signatures, both before and after the implementation of the Brazilian Public Key Infrastructure (ICP) in 2001. A survey of case law in the State of Rio Grande do Sul concerning crimes related to digital signatures and certifications is also presented. Ultimately, the research seeks to offer some suggestions for security measures to ensure the safe use of digital certificates. The methodology employed is inductive, based on bibliographic research, consisting of a search for already established theoretical references, as well as an analysis of official documents from governmental bodies.pt-BRDireitoCrimes virtuaisAssinatura digitalSegurança da informaçãoAssinatura eletrônicaCrimes virtuais: fraudes em assinaturas eletrônicasTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso
