Rachevski, MariuscaRibeiro, Amanda Lavandoski2025-03-272024https://repositorio.uricer.edu.br/handle/35974/833The present study focuses on the care provided by the nursing team to individuals with mental disorders, aiming to infer about the knowledge, understanding, and feelings aroused in nursing teams. Thus, a cross-sectional observational research was conducted through a questionnaire, developed and applied by the authors, supported qualitatively by the theoretical framework. The research had a descriptive approach, with a population of 62 participants, who are professionals from two hospitals with emergency services in a city in the northern of Rio Grande do Sul state. The results show that most of the participants have their emotional state affected when caring for psychiatric patients. Sadness, fear, and impatience also emerged as frequent and significant feelings. Approximately half of the interviewees reported that the main difficulty in caring for these patients is their lack of knowledge.
