Analyzing the historical and social evolution of these phenomena reveals the need to seek alternatives beyond traditional punishment that aim to deconstruct ideas built on the patriarchal model. Thus, the application of Restorative Justice is explored as an alternative, focusing on cases of violence against women with the application of the Maria da Penha Law. The general objective of the research is to demonstrate the (in)effectiveness of Restorative Justice in combating violence against women. The research concluded that Restorative Justice has the potential to break the cycle of violence and strengthen the protection and empowerment of women, provided it is carried out by qualified professionals. The inductive approach method and the monographic procedure method allowed an in-depth analysis of the concepts and practices of Restorative Justice, as well as it’s (in)effectiveness in combating domestic violence.pt-BRDireitoJustiça restaurativaViolência domésticaLei Maria da PenhaA desigualdade de gênero e a violência doméstica: um olhar a partir da utilização da justiça restaurativaTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso
