Banks, lenders, among others, offer their clients various lines of credit. Whether due to ignorance, lack of planning and even bad faith, many people end up incurring more debt than they can afford, thus causing a high rate of default. To perform the research was used a bibliographical study, qualitative descriptive approach in which the results show that Brazil has high rates of default, both at the level of legal entity and individual. At the end of the research, it is concluded that financial institutions have numerous types of credit offerings.
