The study addresses the issue of raising and living with minor children during this new phase of life, in which various changes take place, with the children being the most affected by this situation. In this context, topics related to general notions of parentage, understanding parental authority, and jurisprudential analyses will be explored to understand how higher courts are addressing this prevalent and contentious issue in Brazilian reality.
