Brustolin, Angela MariaCosta, Débora Dalla2022-02-012022-02-012021http://repositorio.uricer.edu.br/handle/35974/359Cancer is a type of malignant disease that contains more than a hundred types of tumors, with a disorderly growth of cells, which can invade other tissues and organs. They have a strong tendency to be very aggressive and uncontrollable, causing damage to the individual's body. If the disease starts in the epithelial tissues, they are called carcinomas and when they start in the connective tissues, they are called sarcomas, but the main distinction is the speed of cell multiplication and the capacity to create metastases. Among the treatments offered for cancer, surgery, radiotherapy or systemic therapy are offered, which is used by most patients, with chemotherapy being the most popular. These treatment interventions can be used individually or together. Chemotherapy can be given orally, subcutaneously, intramuscularly or intravenously. The most used venous accesses in oncology sectors for the administration of chemotherapy drugs are: peripheral venous access, peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC), central venous catheter and porth-a- cath. Identify national and international scientific nursing productions in the last five years that address the care provided by the nursing staff to cancer patients using catheters. This is an integrative review carried out from the Protocol by Mendes, Silveira and Galvão (2008), which address the issue in Portuguese and English, published in the last five years, in the VHL database and which were produced by nursing. Articles with primary/original data and works that address the descriptors in the title/abstract/subject. The search for the material took place after validation at the time of qualification in June 2021. Seven articles were found, from these, the following categories emerged: Use of catheters in pediatric oncology; Complications and disease prevention and management of catheter protocols in oncology. The participation of professional nurses in front of work teams is of paramount importance, in order to reduce injuries, complications and act to reduce the social and emotional impacts of patients and their families. Extremely important studies were found on the care of catheters, as they are the gateway for many microorganisms that are harmful to health, especially cancer patients who are already debilitated.pt-BREnfermagemAssistência de enfermagemOncologiaAssistência da equipe de enfermagem a pacientes oncológicos em uso de cateteres: uma revisão integrativaTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso
