A useful and easy-to-use tool is the Nine Box matrix. This tool, after being applied, classifies employees into 9 types of profiles according to their potential and performance. This facilitates the management of leaders as the gaps of each employee are visible to be worked on, be it potential or performance. The tool also gives the manager a macro view of his / her sector, pointing out which activities have fewer people enabled to perform. The objective of this study is to apply the Nine Box matrix tool in a sector of industrialized products in order to facilitate the management of the sector leader. The tool was successfully applied, and after it was completed, valuable data were obtained that will help the sector leader, for example, that in specific activities about 43% of its employees do not have any skills or potential to perform.
