However, in the Brazilian energy scenario, this product has high prices, due to the high incidence of taxes on it. Thus, it results in the practice of more and more frequent adulteration by gas stations. In this way, the Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustível (ANP) inspects the main liquid fuels in Brazil through the PMQC - Programa de Monitoramento da Qualidade dos Combustíveis, assessing their physical and chemical characteristics. Therefore, in the present work, the quality of Common Type C Gasoline sold in Erechim, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, was analyzed, as well as the comparison of the results with the limits described by the current legislation. Samples were collected from twelve gas stations and the visual characteristics, density, alcohol content, boiling fraction and acidity were determined, following the methodologies published by ABNT. The outcomes showed that 75% of the studied samples are in good quality for sale. The non-conformities presented in the other 25% were due to visual analysis and the amount of alcohol that exceeded the limit of 27±1% allowed. Even if the number of irregular samples were small, it was higher than the limit published by the ANP for the reference months in Erechim. It was concluded that although the form of inspection of liquid fuels is excellent, it is the theoretical, in other words, it does not express data in accordance with reality.pt-BREngenharia QuímicaGasolinaAdulteraçãoPropriedades físico-químicasEstudo da qualidade da gasolina tipo C comercializada no munícipio de Erechim-RSTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso
