Sartori, Giana Lisa ZanardoSouza, Aline Gomes de2025-03-272024https://repositorio.uricer.edu.br/handle/35974/832Transsexuality is described as the individual non-identification with their biological sex, but with their psychological sex, which can cause psychological suffering to these people. This identification leads to the desire for a body corresponding to their gender identity, making sexual reassignment surgery an important element in the Transsexualizing Process. However, these policies are still vulnerable and incipient in the country, which reinforces the importance of studies that demonstrate their real applicability in Brazil, especially those that highlight the perspective of transgender people who have experienced the process. Thus, the present study is characterized as descriptive and qualitative nature, whose objective is to investigate the perceptions attributed to sexual reassignment surgery, in the experience of transgender people. The participants are 5 transgender people, interviewed through an anonymous online questionnaire. Some categories were created based on the regularities found in the participants’ responses, such as: Perceptions about access to the Transsexualizing Process; Perceptions about human dignity and gender recognition; Perceptions about after surgery physiological changes. The interpretation of the results follows the precepts of content analysis. At the end of the process, there was significant satisfaction regarding surgical procedure and in terms of recognizing their gender and affirmation of their human dignity.pt-BRMedicinaTransexualidadeRedesignação sexualDignidade humanaAs percepções das pessoas transexuais que vivenciaram o processo transexualizador pelo Sistema Único de Saúde sob a ótica da dignidade humanaThe perceptions of transsexual people who experienced the transitioning process through the Brazil’s unified health system under human dignity perspectiveTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso
