The term "ancestors" generally refers to grandparents, great-grandparents, and other older parents. The issue involves legal, social and psychological considerations. Some argue that ancestor adoption can provide a more stable family environment and keep the child within the kinship network, while others raise concerns about the ability of ancestors to deal with the challenges associated with adoption, especially in relation to the older age group. The debate is complex, involves legal and child welfare issues, and requires careful consideration of the interests and needs of the child in question. To carry out the research, the inductive method was used, through bibliographical, documentary and jurisprudential research.pt-BRDireitoCriança e adoelescenteAdoçãoA (im) possibilidade da adoção de crianças e adolescentes por ascendentesTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso
