Mignoni, Marcelo LuisPedott, Victor de Aguiar2021-02-242021-02-242020http://repositorio.uricer.edu.br/handle/35974/293The large amount of rice produced in Brazil, generates a large volume of waste to be discarded, like Rice Hull (RH) and Rice Hull Ash (RHA), however, such residues have amounts of silicon present in its structure and this can be used in the synthesis of materials as zeolites and MCMs mesoporous structures. The synthesis of the MCM-48 material was carried out in order to reuse the silicon present in the RHA structure. The incorporation of metals in these porous materials, enable its application on several processes in heterogeneous catalysis area. Due to this and the necessity of different forms of niobium application, element of great occurrence in the Brazilian territory, the niobium was incorporated to the material during the synthesis process, originating the Nb-MCM-48 structure, where it was synthesized with different Si/Nb molar rations (5, 20, 50 e 80). The synthesis occurred at room temperature and the niobium was incorporated in situ, during the structure formation. The obtained material at the end of the process was subjected to characterization by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), nitrogen adsorption/desorption textural analysis and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The obtained results confirms the formation of Nb-MCM-48 structure, where its properties is consistent with those described on literature. The Nb incorporation in MCM-48 did not alter its structural properties, as specific surface area and pore distribution for Si/Nb molar ratio lager than 1/5, because in this molar ratio occurs a decrease on specific surface area and pore volume. In relation of the obtained material morphology, it proved to be spherical in uniform size, characteristic of such structures. The obtained results demonstrated success in the synthesis of the Nb-MCM-48 mesoporous materials using rice industry waste as alternative silicon source and in the structural incorporation of niobium metal.pt-BREngenharia QuímicaSilícioMCM-48NióbioSíntese e caracterização de Nb-MCM-48 utilizando cinza de casca de arroz como fonte de sílicaTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso
