Sartori, Giana Lisa ZanardoMesquita, Milena2025-03-182024https://repositorio.uricer.edu.br/handle/35974/775This paper addresses the phenomenon of parental abandonment, with an emphasis on the role of the single-parent family, analyzed from legal, psychological and social perspectives. Initially, the concept of parental abandonment is investigated in light of the Brazilian legal system, focusing on the legal responsibilities attributed to the absent father and the legal consequences of this omission. The research then explores the psychological impacts of abandonment, especially on the emotional and cognitive development of children, highlighting the burden imposed on the maternal figure as the primary caregiver. Furthermore, the social and cultural aspects that perpetuate gender inequality in the context of single parenthood are discussed, reflecting on the challenges faced by single mothers in raising their children in a scenario of paternal neglect. Thus, the study seeks to contribute to the multidimensional understanding of parental abandonment and its implications for family dynamics and child well-being, proposing measures to support and protect single-parent families. Thus, in order to fulfill what was proposed in this research, the method used was inductive, with bibliographic, monographic, documentary and legislative research. It is concluded that parental abandonment is a complex and multidimensional problem, which requires the implementation of coordinated actions in the legal, psychological and social spheres, aiming to guarantee the protection of single-parent maternal families and the healthy development of children.pt-BRDireitoAbandono parentalResponsabilidade parentalFamília monoparentalAbandono parental: o papel da família monoparental materna sob as perspectivas jurídica, psicológica e socialTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso
