Abstract/Resumen
This paper addresses the social reintegration of ex-prisoners, highlighting the challenges they face upon returning to society. The justification is based on the need for effective public policies to reduce criminal recidivism and facilitate reintegration, especially due to the impact of stigmatization. The research aims to analyze how the media influences social reintegration, either by perpetuating stigmas or contributing to the acceptance of ex-prisoners. The research problem focuses on how media representations affect the reintegration process, questioning whether journalistic coverage hinders the return of ex-prisoners to society. Hypotheses suggest that an ethical media approach, along with inclusive public policies, can improve the chances of reintegration and reduce recidivism. The structure of the paper includes an introduction to the topic and a theoretical review of reintegration. Next, the challenges faced by ex-prisoners, such as difficulties in finding employment and discrimination, are discussed. The media's impact is analyzed in the third chapter, highlighting the influence of sensationalism. The paper concludes with proposals for policies and strategies to improve the reintegration of ex-prisoners.
