Abstract/Resumen
Mental health is an issue of social and human relevance and the discussions regarding this subject have been increasing over the years, setting aside the prejudice that, for a long time, surrounded it. Thereby, the issue earned place and began to concern the responsible bodies, such as the World Health Organization (WHO), due to the considerable growth of cases in Brazil and in the world. According to WHO data, disclosed in 2017, Brazil has the highest number of anxious people in the world (9.3% of the population) and the highest depression index in Latin America (5.8% of Brazilians). Conviviality spaces, contact with the nature, architecture and the city itself have relation with the development and the cure of mental illnesses, besides, in the last years, the demand for alternative therapies has been growing, wich are proving to be increasingly effective. However, even with these data about the constant increase in the number of individuals with mental and behavioral disorders, still there is a lack of spaces focused on the treatment in the country. Therefore, the objective of this work is to obtain foundation to develop a Mental Health Support Center, for the city of Erechim, Rio Grande do Sul, that has the purpose to treat and support people through integrative and complementary practices jointly with conventional medical treatments. The work methodology is descriptive, based on the analysis of secondary data.
